⇨ Began to feel useless to his friends as he was only a Shadow and couldn't even talk
⇨ Ran away once he heard Maleficent was still alive
⇨ Made a deal with her to gain a human shape and ability to speak
⇨ If deal is broken, he will become a Shadow again
⇨ His end of the deal not yet revealed; Maleficent will simply call on him when he's needed
